Find: Where to buy Coffee Beans in Singapore (or any where in the world)

Firstly, this cafe is out of the way. There is no reason one would randomly be wandering in the area. It’s only saving grace is the shuttle bus from One-North MRT that runs every 15 minutes or so to Infinite Studios. Rough concrete, exposed pipes and hanging lights complete the experience of sitting on makeshift crates-turned-seats. The modestly furnished industrial style place serves up staple cafe and bistro fare.

I sampled their Sticky Date Pudding ($9.90) along with a cup of latte. The pudding came generously dusted with powdered sugar. Although it looked like a chocolate lava cake, the unassuming morsel was stickier and the chocolate filling did not flow as readily. What it lacked aesthetically, it made up for with flavour - the cake portions were sticky and rich in chocolate. The richness was further enhanced by the filling which was even sweeter - surprisingly, the scoop of vanilla ice cream added some much needed moisture to the entire dish. Overall a sweet, sticky mess that was a bit too much for me but good as a filling dessert (the thick sweetness makes it hard to eat anything else after).

The latte ($5.50) was quite thin and tart, with hardly any milkiness to counterbalance the coffee's bite. A harsh cup that will wake you up for sure. Perhaps the taste was due to the overwhelming dessert thus making it taste harder than it was meant to.

The other brunch options are relatively budget friendly (mostly under $10) but they'll need something like that going for them due to the location and its issues. If you are ever at Infinite Studios, Revolution Coffee is secluded enough for some chill time away from the bustle of Singapore.
