East Manhattan Bakery first opened at Katong V mall serving freshly baked authentic artisanal bread, tarts and cakes. Their first boutique café, East Manhattan Bakery Café, located at Upper Bukit Timah, opened just less than a year ago.
Lorong Kilat is a good spot for café hopping, where there’s already a populated row of quaint cafés and restaurants. Everything is personally crafted in house at East Manhattan and I think you'll definitely be able to find something on their menu to satisfy your taste buds.
There’s nothing very distinct about the décor of this café but the exposed brick walls brought in a warm and cosy mood. If it’s not crowded, I think it will be a great place to enjoy my afternoon tea.
My friend recommended the Apple Crumble Cheesecake ($6.90), which I tried. This was truly an amazing piece of cake excellently crafted with a lightly flavored taste of the cheese. What added to the overall burst of flavour were the tangy apple slices at the top and bits of cranberry tucked inside the cheesecake. I liked it very much. Do try it yourself to find out.
