Baker's Well, a bakery café, enjoys a good location along East Coast road next to its neighbour, Holqa café. Having been around since 2004, it probably had built up quite a good reputation for it to survive till today.

I was overwhelmed by the fragrance of dried flowers they hung around their café when I first stepped in. The warm lightings and woody furniture used gave a homely and warm feel to the whole place.

They have quite a decent variety of muffins, pastries, breads, cookies, cakes etc. and it’s a good stop to pick up stuff for breakfast or afternoon tea parties.  They have all-day cake and coffee/tea set as well.

I ordered their recommended carrot cake and a cup of Americano ($7.50 for this set). The carrot cake was slightly moist and had a chewy texture as well as a strong fruity taste. As for their Americano, it tasted pretty much average, nothing spectacular about it.

I noted that all their cakes, pastries and breads were baked in-house and they also have some traditional pastries such as pineapple tarts for sale. Overall, it’s a nice place for an afternoon tea.
