This is a steam driven espresso machine that can brew up to 4 cups of espresso (some folks might not agree with the choice of word).

It has a single and double shot filter baskets, a metal porta filter and an oversized control knob for switching over to steam mode.

It is very small measuring just 9 by 8 by 11 inches.

In terms of look and feel, it is just an espresso machine, but the main drawback about this machine is its steam powered pressure which is not strong enough.

It is an espresso machine, it takes time to heat up the machine. Takes time to make an espresso.

In addition, no matter how easy it is to clean this espresso machine, it is still more complicated than a single serve coffee maker.

Krups is a popular brand, but not XP1020, it is one of the machine that has the most negative feedback. Check out its feedback on amazon.

For an espresso machine, it would take up too much footprint. It is a small machine.

Price

If there is a strong reason to buy the XP1020, it would be the cost. This is one of the lowest priced espresso maker around, in fact it is even cheaper than some programmable drip coffee maker.

Overall, if you are looking for a low cost and entry espresso machine, this can be considered. But, if you are thinkin of crema on top of your espresso, or well done cappuccino, this might not be the machine for you.
