It is one of the food trends that will take 2016 by storm. Even Sunday Times recently did a taste test on the different versions from the various cafes and ranked them.

Just yesterday, we were doing our usual café-hopping routine, landed at Do.Main and was pleasantly surprised when they gave us a “taste test” on their Salted Egg Yolk Croissant before it’s launch on this coming Saturday.
How did I feel about the overall taste? It was kind of different from my expectation of a Salted Egg Yoke croissant. I shall not divulge too much about the taste profile here but you can head down to Do.Main to try it out for yourself.
I can however talk about the texture of the croissant. I noticed in the Sunday Times ranking that some of the cafes were marked down because of the texture of their croissant.
You can be rest assured
that the Do.Main’s owner got it right. It has the right amount of butter and
flakiness and the texture is just like the rest of the pastries that they sell,
perfect.
Personally for me, if you are trying a “flavoured” croissant, the croissant should be the lead and the fillings as the co-stars.
Overall, I will recommend a “Check it out” on Do.Main’s Salted Egg Yolk Croissant.

Just do note that all their stuff are baked in-house with quality ingredients and thus might come across slightly more pricey than some other cafes.
