SEB pressure coffee pot

My wife's mother bought this pot in the late 1960s in Macys. Works great for expresso and as the Italian like to say Brown coffee.

The rubber seal is creaking and I have not been able to find any information on this pot at all.

Hi Betsy,

Just came across this site whilst looking for Seb Moka spares.

I found a silicon gasket online that fits but as it’s thicker than the original rubber gasket, you’ll need to prise open the gasket groove slightly to make it fit. The part number is ITALG12

Hi Betsy,

The link below should work for your Seb Moka.

The replacement silicon seal is slightly thicker than the original rubber but if you increase the gap of the seal groove with a flat screwdriver, it’ll fit in perfectly.

I have a SEB pressure coffee pot also, aluminum

I am wondering where I might find a rubber gasket for it. It is really starting to crack.
I have been looking online for SEB coffeemakers like mine for several years.

You see these SEB pots in french boot sales (brocantes). Yours is the largest one, and stainless steel,and i think made later, most of them are aluminium, and they go down to about quarter the size.

Of course there is a problem for spares, I don't think they've been made since the 60s or 70s.

... but they make the best tasting coffee, as you might expect from the French. The perfect combination of filter method, and italian moka pressure method.

So I've ended up scouring the french brocantes to get several pots for the different sizes to be able to have spares. You sometimes see them on ebay, I've not looked at French ebay, but its not as developed anyway.

The usual things to go are the aluminium springs, the filter mesh or even the black turning handle on the top rather than the rubber bit between the two chambers.

... but your stainless one is only the second I've seen anywhere other than the one I managed to get.

How to use this Italian esspresso

I recently returned from Italy where I made espresso every morning, but in a different pot. But I have the same pot mentioned on this page. I can't remember how to use it. Anyone have a step by step method? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Seb coffee maker rubber seal

Try lubricating it with vegetable or mineral oil between uses. In the interim, why not get a small piece of rubber and trace the existing seal to make your own.
