I just got a Krups nespresso 987

by Epona
(Wales Great Britain)

I just purchased a second-hand Krups nespresso 987 coffee pod machine from ebay at one third of the retail price.

I have never had a coffee machine before and I am very pleased with it. It is easy to use and makes wonderful coffee.

The milk steaming is with a little steel pipe next to the coffee pod holder.

It takes a few goes to steam the milk correctly but I have got the hang of it now. I bought a small stainless steel milk jug( I fill the jug half full), it takes about 2 minutes to steam.I was spending £1.50p per cup in a cafe so it will save money and eventually pay for itself.

It is not true that the pods are easy to buy on the market, the machine has to have the nespresso pods and these are only available from the website or purchased from sellers on ebay.

This means each pod costs between 42p to 52p to buy including the cost of postage and packing, but this is still a huge saving on spending £1.50 per cup in a cafe.

The pods come in 'tubes' of ten, long rectangle cartons. There are several varieties of coffee pods available, they have different strengths and flavours, and it is nice experimenting to find out which you will like best.

I would like to know if any other coffee pods which are more readily available and cheaper to purchase, could be used in this machine.

I was wondering if the Dolce Gusto pods would fit the holder, but I daren't try it incase it causes the machine to break down.

Has anyone reading this has had any success using other coffee pods in this machine?
