Cold brew coffee going mainstream?

by Chee Leng
(Singapore)

Kohana Cold Brew

Kohana Cold Brew

If the Cold brew coffee does get into the mainstream market, it would be due to the effort of Kohana Coffee.

They recently launched a organic Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate and has sealed a deal with Whole Food Market to distribute in whole of Southwest region of US.

That is big! Imagine Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico.

Cold brew coffee has been around for a couple of years, and people like it because it is lighter in acid and even good for people that is cannot take the coffee acidity.

While there are some companies selling cold coffee concentrate, the usual people get it is by the cold brew method, using apparatus like toddy, hourglass etc.

So, with this new distribution, consumers might be able to get their coffee concentrate easily and hopefully it is affordable as well.

I guess no many people have the patience to wait 12 hours for the cold brew method to produce the cold coffee concentrate.

If given a choice, you rather just purchase and consumed it immediately right?

Refreshing.

After days of writing about single serve coffee, finally a product that is not in the single serve coffee genre. Who knows, by being in the blue ocean away from all the competition, Kohana might just find a very profitable niche all to themselves:)
