I like my coffee sweet

by John Patchipat
(Florida)

Beautiful coffee lady

Beautiful coffee lady

I love the smell of coffee in the morning. Add to that a croissant or two and for me this is the beginning of heaven. The only thing that beat this is coffee, croissant on a Sunday morning, in bed with your loved on, and the steaming promises of day off.

And thus I found myself the first morning after, with the lady of my life, happy as can be and waiting for breakfast in bed. How do you like your coffee? she had whispered amorously in my ear before going down to the kitchen.

I like it sweet my love. Strong and sweet. (The things you say when you are happy!)

And so this delightful lady went down to cook our very first meal whilst I stayed in bed, wrapped up in pillows, counting the blessing that had put her in my life.

I could smell the gorgeous aroma of the coffee brewing, the delicious smells of croissants. Outside, the day was clear and brisk. It was truly going to be a day to remember.

A short while later, my lady returned and laid my breakfast on my lap. I reached down for the first sip of my coffee, smelled it fully before drinking, and quietly chocked.

My beautiful companion had mixed sugar with salt and as she knew me to be on a sweet side when it came to coffee, she had been more than generous with the salt.

After breakfast she asked: "how was your coffee darling?"

I was delicious was all I could say. Strong, sweet and delicious.

You put a smile on my face! This is a great story about coffee. And the truth is, coffee is really about the moment rather than the machines hmm...what an insight!
