How much calories in an 8 ounce cup of coffee ?

One of the most widely consumed beverages in the world, mainly due to its caffeine content is Coffee.

Plain black coffee can provide a boost of energy with almost no calories at most about 1 calorie in an 8-ounce cup. Even less if you use a paper filter as it removes a substance known as diterpenes that have a negative impact on health.

Coffee drinks made with common additions like milk, sugar, and other flavorings contribute further calories than plain coffee.

Keep in mind that the number of calories in a milk-based coffee drink depends on the type of milk used.

According to Dr. Eric Rimm, a professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, “Five to eight cups a day of unfiltered coffee may actually raise your 'bad' LDL cholesterol.”

Limiting your coffee drinks that have excessive amounts of sugar, milk, creamers, or flavorings will certainly benefit your calorie intake.

Consuming such beverages in moderation is not a concern of too many calories.

Based on per 8 ounces (240 mL), below are the beverages calories:

Black coffee 2 | Iced Black Coffee  2 | Espresso 20 | Cold Press (nitro cold brew) 2 | Flavored beans brewed 2

The concentration of espresso contains more calories than brewed coffee per ounce, a shot of espresso is typically only 1 ounce (30 mL), has approximately 2 calories

About US | OCM Profile

OCM (OnCoffeeMakers.com) was started in 2007 with the first webpage about coffee machines. And for a number of years, we focused on helping people find their desired coffee machine (we still are helping folks with that! So, if you are looking for coffee machines for office or restaurants - check out the link).

In 2010, we started getting enquiries on restaurant marketing and we start to help food and beverage brands with their marketing. Below are campaigns and events that we have done over the years:

Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.

Since then, we have also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of these modules are still running in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes, below are some snippets of our lectures and workshops:
