How To Descale A Delonghi Magnifica Automatic Cappuccino
Coffee Machine?

What happens if you do not descale your coffee maker on a regular basis?

It is impossible to extract the full flavor from your coffee beans if the water cannot reach its optimal brewing temperature.

Because of mineral deposits left to accumulate, water flow can be blocked, and the machine will eventually fail. Your coffee will be barely tepid enough to warm your fingers.

Hard water has the potential to build up in your coffee machine over time, which will result in a slower drip.

You should do this quarterly. De'Longhi machines have a built-in system to monitor and alert you to the need for descaling.

How to - Descale a Delonghi Magnifica?

  • Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to 5 cups of water in your machine. Remove the filter basket from your machine and replace it with your carafe. Connect your De'Longhi machine to an electrical outlet and initiate the brewing cycle.

  • Press the descaling button for 3 seconds. While the light is flashing, place a large bowl under the steam nozzle, and then turn it off.

  • Rinse the tank out, empty it and refill it with fresh water. It's likely that you can reduce the smell of vinegar by doing 1 to 2 cycles with warm water.
