Espresso roast coffees are cooked with instrumentation, that increases the caramelization and body, which suits an Espresso machine to extract delicious elixir.
Filter roast retains the acidity that a filtered cup of brew needs. If you prefer manually via a pour-over then you need a filter roasted coffee.
