The difference of Espresso roast
vs Filter roast coffee

Espresso roast for espresso machines, filter roast for manual brewing

Espresso roast coffees are cooked with instrumentation, that increases the caramelization and body, which suits an Espresso machine to extract delicious elixir.

Filter roast retains the acidity that a filtered cup of brew needs. If you prefer manually via a pour-over then you need a filter roasted coffee.
