Situation of COVID-19 for Singapore Retailers:
Currently in Singapore, if you have a physical location, you will need to keep your location safe. You will need to take the temperature for your customers, ensure that they do the safe entry and practice safe distancing.
The measures to keep your company or outlet safe will require you to invest some manpower to ensure that all measures are in place, and it also decreases your traffic (controlled measures in malls).
What you are already doing:
To mitigate the reduction in traffic and sales, you likely already have your own online presence or list your products or services on one of the e-commerce sites.
It is a competitive space and you need to again spend advert dollars to drive traffic to your online assets and maybe pay commission to any sales from the e-commerce sites such as Q010, Foodpanda.
What can you do?
What if you can monetize and sell to the traffic that are in your vicinity (e.g. malls) that are doing their attendance taking, contract tracing, temperature taking?
What if as they go to every level, they continue to be traced and as they do that, they interact with your menu or products?
And if you are a landlord with many tenants, what if doing all these do not cost you anything yet, bring traffic to your tenants?
What we have done before?
We have done many games and campaigns for companies to re-direct their traffic for exhibitions, malls and even tourist sites.
You can read about some of the campaigns we have done here: OCM Marketing examples.
And we believe leveraging on the lesser amount of traffic and re-directing them to the various tenants by helping the shoppers, showing them the options is a key way to move into this New Norm.
Drop us a message if you are keen for a short zoom chat about this (you can select free marketing campaign button).
Otherwise, thank you for your time and here is free coffee for spending the time to read through this. :)
OCM was started in 2007, focusing first on coffee machines, then marketing for coffee and food and beverage companies. Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.
OCM has also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of the modules are running in the Singapore Skillsfuture Classes in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes.
For the readers (coffee lovers), we continue to share coffee articles (and videos) and have also started a free coffee class section (with free online coffee training supported by coffee partners).
