What Factors That Affect Your Brew . . .

Are you curious why the coffee that you just brew keeps tasting totally different every time?

There are a number of factors discussed below that may have an effect on your brew. As a guide, you can tweak your brewing that can result in a brew that suits your tastes.

  • Your Grind . . .
The size of the ground affects the strength of the coffee that you will extract through the beans. Too fine grounds result in strong coffee because the surface area of the coffee will have been increased and the hot water will be able to extract most of the ingredients in that coffee. Therefore, adjust the coffee beans grind size to see changes in the strength of the brew that you extract.
  • Coffee Dosage . . .
The amount of coffee use can impact the brew. Experiment with different grind sizes and filter baskets that come with the machine to perfect your brewing process so that you'll be able to have consistency within the strength of your brews.

  • Water Temperature . . .
Water temperature can have a profound impact on the brew as it accelerates the speed at which the coffee grounds react with the water. Consequently, increasing or decreasing the set temperature of the water throughout the brewing process can result in the perfect brew that you aspire to have.

  • The Extraction Time . . .
The watered-down speed through the coffee grounds will have an effect on the brewed coffee. Slow down the extraction time for the hot water to get more of the nutrients within the coffee grounds if you prefer a strong brew.

Experiment with the various factors and enjoy your coffee!

About US | OCM Profile

OCM (OnCoffeeMakers.com) was started in 2007 with the first webpage about coffee machines. And for a number of years, we focused on helping people find their desired coffee machine (we still are helping folks with that! So, if you are looking for coffee machines for office or restaurants - check out the link).

In 2010, we started getting enquiries on restaurant marketing and we start to help food and beverage brands with their marketing. Below are campaigns and events that we have done over the years:

Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.

Since then, we have also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of these modules are still running in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes, below are some snippets of our lectures and workshops:
