How much coffee should I drink?

Coffee has its benefits . . .

Globally, Millions of people rely on caffeine to stay alert and improve concentration.

Several sources suggest that 400 mg of caffeine per day - the equivalent of 4 cups (945ml) appears to be safe for most adults, but it's not a good idea for children.

Expecting and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors about limiting caffeine use to less than 200 mg daily.

Caffeine overdose can cause unpleasant side effects, and for people who are highly sensitive to its effects or who take certain medications may not be a good choice.

Limiting your caffeine habit may cause withdrawal symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, irritability, and difficulty focusing on tasks. But these symptoms usually are mild and last only a few days.

Cut back gradually, to change your caffeine habit. Pay attention to how much caffeine you're getting from foods and beverages, including energy drinks. Read labels carefully.

Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages late in the day and, this will help your body adjust to the lower levels of caffeine with lessen potential withdrawal effects.

Go for decaffeinated beverages that look and taste much the same as their caffeinated counterparts.

Shorten the brew time when brewing tea to reduce the caffeine content or choose herbal teas that don't have caffeine.

About US | OCM Profile

OCM (OnCoffeeMakers.com) was started in 2007 with the first webpage about coffee machines. And for a number of years, we focused on helping people find their desired coffee machine (we still are helping folks with that! So, if you are looking for coffee machines for office or restaurants - check out the link).

In 2010, we started getting enquiries on restaurant marketing and we start to help food and beverage brands with their marketing. Below are campaigns and events that we have done over the years:

OCM's campaigns: F&B Marketing Ideas by OCM

OCM's Events: F&B Industry events by or with OCM

Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.

Since then, we have also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of these modules are still running in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes, below are some snippets of our lectures and workshops:
