How Many Calories in a Cappuccino?

Espresso, milk, and froth or whipped cream are all common ingredients in a cappuccino. 

The majority of the calories in a cappuccino come from the milk used to make it. While cinnamon and nutmeg are great for flavor, they don't contribute calories.

  • Calories
    A 75-calorie 12 ounce nonfat cappuccino is the recommended serving size. There are 64 calories in a 12 oz. soy cappuccino. Whole milk contains 12 oz. of caffeine.

  • Carbohydrates
    A 12-ounce cup of soy milk cappuccino has 9 grams of carbohydrates (7 g sugar). Non-fat 12 ounce cappuccino contains 11 grams of carbohydrates (9 g sugar). Carbs in a 12-ounce cup of whole milk cappuccino (9 g sugar).

  • Protein
    The milk in a cappuccino contains 3 grams of protein, in a 12-ounce soy cappuccino is  7 grams, in a 12 oz nonfat cappuccino is 6 grams of protein per 12 ounces of whole milk in a cappuccino. 

  • Fat
    There is a wide range of fat content in milk. There is no fat in a nonfat cappuccino There are 2 grams of fat in a 12 ounce soy cappuccino (0.2 g saturated fat). 12 oz. of whole milk cappuccino has 6 grams of fat (4 g saturated fat).

  • Vitamins/Minerals
    Cappuccinos are a good source of vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin that aids in cell metabolism. 60% of the daily value is found in a 12 oz. cappuccino made with soy milk (DV), but Cappuccinos are low in nutrients.  A 12-ounce cup of nonfat cappuccino has a DV of 9%. Cappuccino with whole milk has a DV of 5%.

Calcium levels in nonfat or whole milk cappuccinos are higher than those in regular ones (20 and 23 percent DV, respectively). Soy milk cappuccinos are a good source of calcium (16 percent) and iron (1 percent ). (3 percent of the daily value).

Calcium is essential for the maintenance of healthy teeth and strong bones.
