Five Top Health Benefits of Coffee

If you are wondering, does coffee have any health benefits? Below are the five top health benefits.

1. Heart Disease . . .
Studies show that consuming three to five cups of coffee daily are less likely to develop calcification in the coronary arteries, as coffee protects the muscular chamber of the heart from artery damage that could be due to inflammation.

2. Lowers the Risk of Alzheimer’s . . .
According to studies, Beta-amyloid is the primary cause of Alzheimer's disease. Caffeine reduces beta-amyloid and polyphenol in coffee has antioxidant effects which lower inflammation and helps to protect the brain from declining in function.

3. Lowers the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) . . .
Our body cannot sufficiently produce or effectively use insulin that results in an increase in the level of blood glucose in T2D. Findings in research show that individuals with increased intake of a cup of coffee per day were less likely to develop T2D.

4. Reduces Depression . . .
Coffee does have a positive impact on the mood and helps in preventing depression of mild level to moderate levels. This bad immune reaction causes inflammation in our brain resulting in depression.

A combination of various antioxidants such as nicotinic acid, chlorogenic acid, tannic acid, quinolinic acid, pyrogallic acid, trigonelline, etc. in coffee helps to relieve this inflammation.

5. Protects Against Liver Cirrhosis
Reducing the intake of alcohol will prevent liver cirrhosis. But the study showed that coffee drinkers either decaf and/or regular coffee have lower liver enzymes which protect the liver.

Conclusion . . .
Being able to brew a great cup of coffee yourself at home is valuable. It is also essential to remember that coffee alone is not responsible to keep your overall health in top shape.

Eating healthy food, regular workout, and maintaining a wholesome and healthy lifestyle is essential too!

About US | OCM Profile

OCM (OnCoffeeMakers.com) was started in 2007 with the first webpage about coffee machines. And for a number of years, we focused on helping people find their desired coffee machine (we still are helping folks with that! So, if you are looking for coffee machines for office or restaurants - check out the link).

In 2010, we started getting enquiries on restaurant marketing and we start to help food and beverage brands with their marketing. Below are campaigns and events that we have done over the years:

Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.

Since then, we have also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of these modules are still running in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes, below are some snippets of our lectures and workshops:
