Can coffee creamer cause heartburn?

Over caffeination is the main cause of heartburn. However, coffee creamer causes other sorts of health problems.

Coffee creamer's concoctions are of oil, sugar, and thickeners. The oils are partially hydrogenated unhealthy trans fat.

Trans Fat raises your bad cholesterol (LDL), lowers your good cholesterol (HDL), clogs your arteries, and is a major contributor to type 2 diabetes, it’s been linked directly to coronary heart disease.

Experts agree 4 to 7 cups of coffee is over caffeination, and it causes the muscle that connects the stomach to the esophagus to relax and creates an opening for the stomach acid to come up into your esophagus, which causes acid reflux.

The good news is that there are plenty of natural creamers with additional health benefits that will provide the same perk.

  • Coconut milk rich in iron, calcium, and lactose-free provides the same creaminess that commercial coffee creams do without the artificial ingredients. Coconut milk is easily available at the store.

  • You can consider almond milk which is a delicious, nutty alternative to commercial coffee creamers. Almond milk contains 100 percent of your B-12 requirements and 20 percent of your recommended vitamin A and D.

  • Natural sweeteners like honey also maintain your blood sugar levels because they are both very low on the glycemic index. Your coffee will have a nice flavor boost by adding cinnamon that also helps lower blood sugar.
