Taste of Coffee by Regions

Coffee is simply Coffee, Right?

No, altitude, temperature, rainfall, sunlight, and a bunch of other stuff all affect how the coffee grows and the way the coffee tastes.

Imagine the rocky hilltops of rural Kenya compared with the luxurious jungle of northern Thailand. an equivalent plant will grow quite differently in those two locations.

Where coffee comes from plays an enormous role in what that coffee tastes like in your cup! Similar with wine or brandy, there's a difference in taste you'll never imagine.

There’s a definite difference between the juicy and acidic fruitiness of African coffee and therefore the earthy and nutty taste of Asian coffee. Then there are methods of production that highlight these flavors and really make them distinct.

These three main areas: Latin American, Africa, and Asia. Latin American coffees known for their sweeter and balanced flavors, African coffees for bright, fruity, and floral notes whereas Asian coffees for their earthy, spicy, and woody tastes.

When I first step into coffee, I think it tastes brown and bitter.

How Coffee Can Taste Like Blueberry, Hazelnut Or Cocoa…

Coffee is an intensely flavorful drink. you recognize this already if you’ve ever tried a very bad, bitter cup of black coffee. It’s only undrinkable due to how powerful the flavour is from the coffee.

But as I know it, those same flavors that are present in fruit or nuts or flowers are often present simply because the chemical structure is comparable.

You need high-quality coffee of single-origin (for the flavors to actually stand out), roasted and brewed well, and not drowned in cream, sugar, or milk.

About US | OCM Profile

OCM (OnCoffeeMakers.com) was started in 2007 with the first webpage about coffee machines. And for a number of years, we focused on helping people find their desired coffee machine (we still are helping folks with that! So, if you are looking for coffee machines for office or restaurants - check out the link).

In 2010, we started getting enquiries on restaurant marketing and we start to help food and beverage brands with their marketing. Below are campaigns and events that we have done over the years:

OCM's campaigns: F&B Marketing Ideas by OCM

OCM's Events: F&B Industry events by or with OCM

Check out this restaurant marketing guide to learn more about the many campaigns and companies we have worked with.

Since then, we have also created many marketing workshops and classes for the F&B industry. Many of these modules are still running in tertiary institutions such as Temasek Polytechnic Skillsfuture Academy and also ITE College East COC classes, below are some snippets of our lectures and workshops:
