Which One of the Best Coffee Makers is Honored in Museums Today?

by Michael
(Philadelphia, PA)

There is one that I know of that is still available in the market today. It's the Chemex Coffee Maker. It was invented in the 1940's by a chemist/artist named Peter Schlumbohm, who used science as a marketing tool to promote his coffee maker. "Its the chemist's way to make coffee."

The Chemex Coffee Maker has been honored for its ingenious design in museums such as the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Its also named by the Illinois Institute of Technology as one of the 100 best designed products of modern times. Not bad, huh?
