Unexpected Treasure Discovered in Small Town

Let me begin with a notice that I am a great lover of all coffee. Some more than others. I currently live and work in Costa Rica and not to pe prejudiced, Costa Rican coffee is HIGH on my short list of Great Coffee.

I am constantly searching for new brands and thus new flavors for my over used taza. On a recent trip to visit Volcan Poas, an hour's drive from the capital of San Jose, I stumbled on a little tienda in the small town of Poascito, and went in for some supplies. I wanted water and a snack but happened upon their coffee aisle and walked out with 4 new coffees as a reward.

I live on the Pacific coast, up in Northern Guanacaste, and we have about 6 brands available in the local mercados.

With these new additional coffees I have increased my variety by 66%.

A lesson learned: each future road trip, search out the "local" brands that represent the beans grown in that area, and hopefully find a source of an undiscovered blue ribbon brew.

Saludos,
