Old School delights is a cafe that sells local (Singapore and South East Asian delicacies) in a setting that is a replicate of coffee shops twenty and thirty years ago.
Folks that have been following the unique cafe series, know that we really go for look and feel, in fact even the coffee maker that we recommend, look is important.
And old school delights with its 70s/80s setting definitely score on the look and feel. In fact, this could be a reason you should check out the place, but no, there is more to it.
Why do you want to go there?
This is assuming that you are in your late twenties or thirties, and are in not in the generation that grow up with Pokemon and Sony playstation, then this cafe is the place to relive your childhood.
In fact, even for folks that are in the late twenties, you might not even have seen some of the toys that are being sold there!
Most of us would be familiar with animal chess, five stones and chatek, but how many of you ever played with tikam tikam or top?
Bring a few childhood friends there and soon you would be talking about toys of your era, it is really a good way to relive your childhood, don't you think so?
By the way, the toys are for sales, so it is good to bring some home and show your kids what daddy and mummy used to play!
This cafe is located at 215m Upper Thomson Road, relive that childhood when you are free.
What is the best time to go there?
It is very crowded during lunch, so after lunch would be better if you want to catch up with friends and be heard while you are chit chatting.
But, the crowd also bring with its a sense of realism of the old school settings -coffee shops have to be bustling with activities right?
So, anytime you go, this cafe should be able to reactivate some memories of the good old days and put you in some nostaglia.
Does this qualify to be an unique cafe? If you know of some cafes that are different like old school delights, follow the link, share it with us and the readers, and we would also share "something nice" with you:)
