Nespresso Against Nespresso -who would win?

Nespresso Against Nespresso -who would win?

I wrote sometime back that Senseo is coming out with a Nespresso compatible capsules, it is in fact (or so I read) an idea that came out from Nespresso former boss!

It appears that Mr Jean-Paul Gaillard, the boss of Nespresso until 1997 wanted to "free the market" and allows consumers to use any blends of coffee in the nespresso system thus, this compatible capsules.

With more than 1000 patents being filed by Nespresso, I seriously wondered if he would get into trouble with Nespresso or even Nestle huge array of lawyers wanting to sue him.

Apparently, he told media that he found a loop hole that can be patented and this is what leads to the compatible capsules.

He said it right when he says that it is a case of David versus Goliath, in fact, kudos must be given to Casion the french retailer that dares to market this capsules from Mr Jean-Paul Gaillard Ethical Coffee Company (ECC).

I am sure Nestle would have some sort of actions, surely something would come from the lawyers at least.

However, it is great to know that someone at least dares to break the "closed system" of nespresso system. If it works, then we would be able to brew anything in nespresso system moving forward!
