How about not using any machines at all!

I believe that those that are familiar with Asia especially South East Asia would know that the majority of folks that have their coffee in this part of the world get their coffee not from machines but socks. They call this coffee socks. And the brewing is incredibly simple, you just let the water go through the ground coffee until the intensity of the coffee is acceptable to you. So is this unique?

how does the sock compare to coffee bags. Premeasured amount of coffee in a tea bag like bag.
I've run into them in hotel rooms and have found them to work quite well.
