Elegant Saeco Coffee Maker With Ceramic Carafe

Elegant Saeco Coffee Maker With Ceramic Carafe

Elegant Saeco Coffee Maker With Ceramic Carafe

Saeco is well known for its high-priced super automatic espresso machines. However, they have also released some stylish coffee makers. Here's one example of their stylish coffee makers.

It's the Saeco Venus Limited with Ceramic Carafe. It has all the basic features that a coffee maker should have: programmable timer, LED indicator, pause and serve, etc.

It's pretty expensive, probably due to its ceramic thermal carafe. It really looks good, and it will definitely stand out among your kitchen appliances.

Add ours to the pile! NEW
by: Anonymous

YUUUUUUPPPP! The thumb lever broke on ours as well. I have a corn cob holder shoved in ours to open the spout.

Has anyone sent this link to Saeco? They should see these comments.

Saeco Venus Coffee Pot
by: Anonymous

I also have the Venus XXCX; sitting on the counter, broken. It has often overflowed on the counter several times and the thumb lever broke off after less than 6 months of use...worst coffee pot I ever owned - doesn't even keep the coffee very warm.

Linked Lid Not Right
by: Anonymous

The linked carafe lid in the comment right below mine isn't a Saeco carafe lid. It's black and made by Whirlpool, and doesn't seem to have a spout. I'm not ordering something I can tell isn't right!

I'm sad to see so many others have had the same problem with their Saeco Venus. We've got a saxophone reed jammed into ours, which keeps it forced open. I guess that's going to be a permanent solution until we can find another coffee pot we love.

Replacement Lid Saeco Venus
by: Anonymous

Same situation with the broken "thumb release" for the thermal lid. It is available (back ordered but they can probably get it) from

ANOTHER broken lid lever. Giving up.
by: Anonymous

I do love this coffee maker, but the lever on mine broke too!! I've been thinking of buying another, but looking at all these posts I think I'll go with something else. I had thought it was just some kind of missuse by me... Oh well.

broken lid
by: Anonymous

Our lid broke only after 6 month of regular use but began having problems after the first brew. Unless we carefully clean the lid after each use the coffee overflows and goes all over the counter. It was a wedding gift so we felt obligated to use it. Its been a total peice of crap compared to the Mr. Coffee I had for 15 years with not a single problem. I wish we hadn't gotten rid of it for the new shiny Saeco that has been a total problem.

MY LID BROKE TOO!
by: Anonymous

Ok, so I see I am not the only one who is searching for a replacement lid for my venus.. I really liked this coffee pot too. Had it for a year and a half and now the lever on top broke. I am going to have to try rigging up the butter knife idea someone gave and stop searching the internet..

No replacement lids available
by: Anonymous

UGH!! I have had my Saeco for about 3 years but for almost a year I wasn't using it since it was in storage. The lever on my lid snapped off today and after an extensive search for a new lid, I discovered that they don't exist!! I can't even find the carafe. I got my coffee make as a gist but I know at the time it was $125 at Starbucks. I previously had a Krups which was ok but for the price of the Saeco and the quality of the REST of the machine, I expected better. From reading the comments though, it seems as if mine actually lasted a long time compared to some others. It's a bit unaccepatable since it is such a nice item otherwise and pretty pricey for certain parts on it to be so cheap. Wouldn't buy another one.

Beautiful Coffee Maker with a problem
by: J. Jeffery

love, our Saeco Venus coffee maker and have had it a year and a half. Now the top is broken, I have tried to search the internet and numerous phone calls but SOS, numerous recomendations but no one has it. I have snaped the top apart to clean it, it is a easy process. The Rubber O Ring at the bottom of the cap is the first thing removed, then pull the button and spring from the top out, turning it slightly as it comes out. the rest is just snaping it apart with a screw driver. Remove the contents that releases the coffee. (4 parts,, the rest of the thumb control, release, a spring and vacuum valve.)If you decide to do this you will also find the the inner release part that connects to the finger lever has cracks, and has warped as well. this would have cause you to push harder to get the wonderful contents within, which causes it to break. Reasembled the cap and it works fine. "Remember if you do this", there is nothing that will stop it from pouring out when you tip to pour, also I find its an eye sore if the carafe handle is pointed out when its in the coffee maker. Hope this will help. I myself love the looks of the Venus and hopefully Saeco will restore the faith we have in them to provide a good product with parts availibity. Until then maybe they will hear our cry and make new tops avaiable.

Don't buy Saeco
by: Anonymous

Ditto. My lid broke after about 6 months normal use. After seeing all these posts, I will not waste my time with trying to buy a replacement lid, will pass info to all friends in the market for a coffeemaker, and will go to another company for my replacement.

Lid
by: Anonymous

I bought mine from Starbucks for my mom as a Christmas gift and that lid button has recently broke after about two years of regular use. We press the center button and coffee can drizzle out of it. I've been looking everywhere for replacement lids and customer service is no help! I really wish someone would sell the lid separately. No luck yet but if I find a way I will post it.

Don't landfill the lid...
by: Baruboy

Great coffee maker, same problem...lever broke. I just used a short thick blade [with styish porcelain handle] butter knife, and slid it in over inner piece and it works fine...a longer, sturdier, for one hand, one thumb operation...It would be a shame to trash the whole coffee maker that works fine due to a minor setback. Peace with Coffee!

Carafe Lid
by: Anonymous

The lever on my carafe broke, too. I will go back to my Mr. Coffee rather than spend $60 plus for a new carafe. It seems that if and when you finally get through to customer service, the lid by itself is not for sale. What a surprise, right? Do not purchase this item unless you want to spend lots of $$$ for something that will last less than one year.

Great Machine, but lid broke
by: Anonymous

Hi, I really love this coffee maker. It makes great coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for hours. However, the lever on the lid broke after about 9 months of regular use. I am not hard on it, but the lever is plastic and it cracked, breaking at the stress point. I am hoping to find a replacement, but the only one I found on the web was the entire carafe for about $60. I wish that the company would just offer replacement lids, I would be happy to purchase another one.

Broken lid

Love the coffee maker BUT the lid to the carafe broke, cannot find a replacement and pouring from carafe without lid, forget it! Would buy again if the improve lid or offer replacement lids as an accessory to purchase. If anyone has success with finding lid please post. Thank You!

Crap

The lid is defective. I spent over 200 dollars on it and have ruined my rugs and coffee leaks everywhere. Don't waste your money! I also bought mine at Starbucks. Crappy product!

Doesn't recommend saeco
by: Anonymous

I purchased this from Starbucks.
The lid broke about 6 months after I purchased.
I was not able to pour the coffee with the lid on which lead to lots of messes on my counters.
I tried calling Cust service and was on hold for much to long.
I don't recommend this. ALso difficult to clean.
Hope this helps!
