Cuisinart Glass vs Thermal Coffee Pots

After I broke my second glass coffee pot, I decided to replace it with a stainless steel carafe instead of another glass carafe that I'll probably break again.

Anyway, I saw thermal coffee pots from Cuisinart, and since I haven't used a thermal carafe before, I decided to get one.

I don't have to worry about cracks now, since thermal carafes are made of stainless steel. They're virtually unbreakable.

Not only that, I don't have to use the warming plate ever again. I just let the thermal carafe get warm with hot water before I brew coffee.

It's durable and it keeps coffee hot for hours. Why didn't I just buy a coffee maker with a thermal carafe before?
