Black-and-decker-recall
Was quite surprised when I heard that Applica Consumer products is recalling almost 10 000 china made black and decker coffeemakers.
They cite the possibility of overheat and melting as reasons for this recall exercise. Melting could cause buring to users and thus the recall, the statement was also issued by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission on Tuesday.
Thus fae, there has only been one incident of the coffeemaker melting but no injuries has been reported (source: Safety commission).
The coffee makers from black and decker that is being recalled bears the model number TCM1000KT and TCM1000IKT. You can find this model number printed on the rating plate at the bottom of the coffeemaker.
This coffee maker was sold from April 2008 to July 2009 and is available at major stores such as Wal-Mart and some smaller retail stores as well, price range from $50-65.
Applica statement highlight that anyone with this model should contact them immediately for a free replacement.
